Please Note: During the Shelter-in-Place policies, I am offering weekly video sessions because I know people really need therapy right now (especially if you are a trauma survivor who is not feeling safe).
After shelter-in-place policies are lifted, sessions are available in my Berkeley, CA office near North Berkeley BART (15 minute walk) and Downtown Berkeley BART (20 minute walk).
***As of January 2021, my practice is full and I am no longer taking new patients.***
If you feel an affinity to my approach and do not need to begin immediately, let’s talk. If you then sense it would be a good fit for us to work together, I can put you on my waiting list or give you a referral based on your unique needs and availability. I am happy to do any or all of these.
I no longer see couples or families.
If you are looking for a family or couple’s therapist, I recommend Deborah Yarock: (510) 214-6951 or deborahyarock@gmail.com.

Important Notes: Appointments must be made within 24 business hours before the session. If it is urgent, the best way to reach me is email: tamara@psychospiritualcounseling.net with URGENT Appointment Needed.
If you prefer to speak with me before scheduling, I offer a free, 20-minute phone consultation to see if we are a fit. To schedule your phone consultation, please email me with a couple of good days and times: tamara@psychospiritualcounseling.net with Phone/Video Consultation in the Subject line.
Regarding Insurance: Check with your insurance company to see if they accept superbills for psychotherapy services. If you have a PPO, you pay upfront and I then submit monthly superbill invoices to you for reimbursement. Many PPOs reimburse as much as 50% of your therapy bill.
Each company is different and reimburses a percentage of your fee or what they deem as standard. I have heard from my clients that some companies say they cover 50%, but with the co-pay it amounts to around 30% so be sure to validate their information. Other companies truly cover 50%. Be sure to ask how much they will reimburse for each session and figure in your deductible and co-pay for the most accurate estimate.
